My friend Rich Steip has provided several photos of a Kentucky snow storm in 2015. This painting was redone several times to get everything right including the sky and the barbed wire fence. The technique on the barbed wire fence was fairly new to me. Darker layers were painted beneath the now and then at the right time lines were scratched revealing dark lines. The technique is more difficult than it sounds because the rest of the painting around the lines has to be correct before the painting is finished. If the surrounding area is not correct the entire process to reveal lines may have to be repeated.
